Privacy

divrecord has no accounts and doesn’t ask who you are. This page lists what is kept, where, and why.

In short

  • There are no accounts. We don’t ask for your name or email address.
  • Your theme and your calendar choices stay in your browser. The number of shares you enter stays in the page address.
  • A calendar you create is stored as a list of companies, with nothing about you.
  • Our servers count and log requests, with the IP address, to limit abuse and find faults.
  • The ads come from Google, which uses cookies. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first.

In your browser

The site uses your browser’s local storage, which stays on your device and isn’t sent to us, for:

  • your theme, if you choose Light or Dark (Auto stores nothing);
  • on the Calendar feed page, the calendar you are putting together and the calendars made on this device, so you can come back to them.

You can clear these in your browser’s settings. Forgetting a calendar on the Calendar feed page removes it from that list only; its feed keeps working.

The number of shares you enter on a company page is kept only in the page address (for example ?shares=100), so it is in your browser history and in any link you share. divrecord doesn’t save it.

On our servers

Calendars. A calendar you create is stored as its list of companies, with how many there are and whether it has been opened. Nothing about who made it is stored. Anyone who has its address can see its companies. There is no account to delete it from, so to have one removed, send us its address.

Rate limits. To limit abuse, our servers count the requests from each IP address over short periods, from a second to an hour, and turn away requests over the limit. The counts aren’t linked to anything else and expire within two hours.

Logs. Like most web servers, ours log requests, including the IP address, to find faults and abuse.

Ads and cookies

divrecord’s own code sets no cookies. Any cookies you find from this site come from Google’s ads and its consent message.

Ads are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure them and, where you allow it, to choose ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks for your choice before ad cookies are used. To change it later, use “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page.

Wherever you are, you can turn off personalised ads in Google’s ad settings, and opt out of other ad companies’ cookies at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads.

Blocking cookies doesn’t stop the site from working.

Your rights

To ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, write to [email protected]. As there are no accounts, we can only find what is linked to an IP address or a calendar address you give us. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Questions and changes

Questions about this page go to [email protected] too. When the page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
